Christine Hicks Dickerson

HENDERSON-Christine Hicks Dickerson, age 92, a resident of Steed-Dickerson Rd., passed away Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Henderson Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born May 14, 1933 in Vance Co., she was the daughter of the late Albert Fenner Hicks and Annie Lee Ayscue Hicks, and was the widow of Millard Edward Dickerson. Christine and her husband Millard owned and operated Dickerson’s Berry Farm.

A graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday May 12, 2026 at 2pm at Sunset Gardens by Rev. Will Breedlove.

The family will receive friends following the service at Sunset Gardens.

She is survived by two sons, Thurston Wayne Dickerson and Edward Lee Dickerson both of Henderson; four daughters, Melba Hamme of Elgin, South Carolina, Cynthia Dittrich of Greensboro, Jennifer Shaw of Henderson, and Angela Bond of Chapel Hill; one sister, Gladys Hicks Westbrook of Spartanburg, South Carolina; 11 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson; and one brother, William “Billy” Hicks. 

She will be remembered and celebrated by her family and all who loved her.
