WAKE FOREST- Clarence Franklin “C.F.” Ayscue, Jr., 82, of Sweetclover Drive, died Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at his home. Born April 19, 1942 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Clarence Franklin “Tom” Ayscue, Sr. and Doris Faulkner Ayscue. C.F. retired from Raleigh Fire Department after serving as a fireman for both Henderson Fire Department and Raleigh Fire Department, as well as the fire chief for Cary Fire Department. He loved shag dancing and tennis. He was a member of New Sandy Creek Baptist Church where funeral services will be held Saturday at 12:00 P.M. by Rev. Rick Clayton. Serving as Pall Bearers will be Mike Roberson, Jonathan Fuller, Chris Cromer, Greg Smith, and James Reeves. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. C.F. is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Ayscue Cromer and husband, Gary of Raleigh; two sisters, Fay Luihn and husband, Allan of Cary and Teresa Brown and husband, Daryl of Birmingham, AL; two step-grandchildren, Christopher Cromer and Ashley Locklear; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at New Sandy Creek Baptist Church. Immediately following the graveside service everyone is invited to a luncheon at the Henderson Country Club, 300 Country Club Drive, Henderson, NC 27536. Flowers will be accepted, or a memorial may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
