KITTRELL-Clarence Elmo "Billy" Grissom, age 96, a former resident of Kittrell, died Monday, July 18, 2016, at Universal Health Care in Oxford.Born in Vance County on April 8, 1920, he was the son of the late Ealie A. Grissom and Deanie Crutchfield Grissom.Billy was a retired carpenter and a Veteran of the United States Army serving in both World War II and the Korean War.He was a member of Fuller Chapel Untied Church of Christ.
Graveside memorial services with Military Honors will be held Thursday at 3 pm at Fuller Chapel United Church of Christ by the Rev. Tammy Ayscue.
He is survived by one son, Charlie Grissom (Linda) of Kittrell; one daughter, Judy M. Tatum of Kittrell; one step-daughter, Sandra Tatum (Johnny) of Henderson; one sister, Madeline Jones of Henderson; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two very special friends, Ann Williams and Larry Roberts.He was preceded in death by one son, Irvin Wayne Grissom; one sister, Estelle Paul; and three brothers, Marshall Grissom, Eugene Grissom, and Vernon Grissom.
The family will receive friend following the service in the Fellowship Hall of Fuller Chapel United Church of Christ.
