HENDERSONClarence Johnny Pittman, 76, a resident of Henderson, died Friday, November 16, 2018, at Maria Parham Health.Born in Swain County on July 11, 1942, he was the son of the late Dave and Virgie Pittman.He was a retired truck driver for Mayo Farms, and was a member of Tungsten Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 3:00 pm at Middleburg Baptist Church by the Rev. Sam Brewer.
He is survived by one daughter, Melanie Barker of Henderson; one step-son, Eddie Garland of Henderson; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Ida Mae Buchanan Pittman; one step-daughter, Linda Sue Keeton; two sisters; and three brothers.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 until 3:00 pm in the Middleburg Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.At other times they will be at the home of Ted and Linda Buchanan, 590 East Spain-Middleburg Road.
