Claude "Skeeter" Richard Pearce Sr.

HENDERSON- Claude Richard “Skeeter” Pearce, Sr., 83, of Chester Lane, died Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at his home. Born January 14, 1940 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Florence Simmons Pearce and Jack Pearce and was the widower of Mary Frazier Pearce. He was the former owner of Pearce Backhoe Service and was a Veteran of the National Guard. Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday, November 12, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Sunset Gardens by the Rev. George Williams. Skeeter is survived by his daughters, Belinda Pearce Denton (Dexter) and Donna Kaye Pearce, one son, Claude “Ricky” Pearce Jr. (Tammy); six grandchildren, Monica Fallen, Kasey Pegram, Allen Metz, Kristy Horton, Melissa Pearce and Nick Pearce; eighteen great grandchildren, Makenze Fallen, Kaley Hayes, Trenton Hayes, Hannah Pegram, Braden Pegram, Jasper Denton, Kymber Metz, Blake Metz, Dakota Horton, Kayla Horton, Jordan Horton, Austin Pendergrass, J.D. Pendergrass, Christian Finney, Alex Pearce, Lucky Pearce, Eli Pearce and Zeke Pearce; and his faithful caregiver, Priscilla Pearce. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Chester Allen Pearce and a grandson, Claude Richard Pearce, III. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons and great-grandsons. The family will receive friends following the service at Sunset Gardens. At other times they will be at his home.
