HENDERSON- Claybourne Eugene "Jimmy" Pegram, 85, of Parham Road, died Friday, February 28, 2020 at a local nursing home.Born November 23,1934 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Robert Pegram and Flossie Hughes Robertson.Mr. Pegram was a truck driver and salesperson for Coble Dairy Products.He was a member of the NC National Guard, a former member of South Henderson Church of God, a member of NC Trappers Association, formerly coached midget league football and was a Christian mentor to many in the community.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 2, 2020 at 12:00 PM at Freedom Life Church of God by Rev. Jeff Prewer.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by two daugthers, Lynn Menikos and husband Pete, and Lisa Tharrington and husband, Richard, all of Henderson; a son, Curt Pegram of Henderson; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and a sister, Jacqueline Vanderpool of Auburndale, FL.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 AM till 12:00 PM Monday at Freedom Life Church of God; and at other times at the home, 503 Parham Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
Serving as pallbearers will be Martin Foster, Michael Adcox, Jeff Hale, Harry Orr, Tyler Tharrington and Doug Bass.
