HENDERSON-Cornelia DeMent Talley Johnson, 85, a resident of 1285 Edwards Road died Wednesday, March 01, 2017, at her home.Born on July 26, 1931 in Granville County, she was the daughter of the lateCarnellRicton DeMent and Corinnie Oakley DeMent.She was a former employee of Harriett & Henderson Yarns, Inc. and a member of Peaces Chapel Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Joe Precht.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by her husband, John Benjamin J. B. Johnson of the home; two daughters, Betty T. Ellington and husband, Harvey and Susan Talley of Oxford; two sons, Granville Buckey Talley and wife, Debra of Wilton and Connie Talley and wife Teresa of Casa Grande, AZ; five grandchildren, Angela Luck, Tina Tyler, Greg Ellington, Jason Talley, and Cameron Talley, and eight great grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, David Talley.
The family will receive friends on Sunday prior to the service from 1:30 until 3 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Greg Ellington, Jason Talley, Cameron Talley, Jalen Luck, Jamie Tyler, Bryce Talley and Trevor Tyler.
