Mr. Pergam was a veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII and was retired from J. L. Williams Construction Company.He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2pm at Calvary Baptist Church by Dr. Gene Wood. Burial with military honors will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Sue P. Short of Henderson; two sons, Ronnie Hugh Pegram of Oxford and Joe Pegram of Henderson; one sister, Lois OGeary of Henderson; two brothers, Asa R. Pegram and George Lee Pegram both of Henderson; five step-daughters, Ann Allgood Jones, Judy Allgood Orr, and Joan Allgood Rainey all of Henderson, Gwen Beasley of Selma and Carolyn Jeans of Whitelake; and two step-sons, Edward L Allgood of Kittrell and Jimmy D. Triplett of Henderson; 18 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded by his wife Edna Daniel Pegram; one son, Phillip Dean Pegram; one sister and five brothers.
The family will receive friends prior to the service Wednesday from 1pm until 2pm in the Fellowship Hall of Calvary Baptist Church. At other times they will be at the home of Joe and Kay Pegram, 622 Aycock Rd Henderson.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Joseph Lee Pegram, Jr., Donnie Allgood, Thomas Simmons, Jason P. Thomas, Robert Bowen, Charlie Evans, Chris Beauchamp, and Scott Harris.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Missions Fund, P O Box 647 Henderson, NC 27536.
