CSM Premond Robert Bowen, Jr. US Army (Ret)

CSM Premond Robert Bowen, Jr. US Army (Ret), 87, of Faulkner Town Road, died Sunday, August 16, 2026 at his home. Born February 10, 1939 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Johnie Hudson Bowen Whitt and Premond Robert Bowen, Sr. Robert was a retired US Army Command Sergeant Major, serving two tours in Vietnam as well as serving in Germany and Okinawa, Japan where he was Special Forces, a Green Beret and Airborne. After retirement he worked at Roses Stores Inc. where he was a rebuyer and was a member of the American Legion Post 60. He was also a member of Flat Rock United Methodist Church and the Adult Sunday School Class.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Flat Rock United Methodist Church by Pastor Josh Eom. Burial with full military honors will follow in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Hope Bowen of the home; a daughter, Kathy B. Bolton (William) of Henderson; two grandchildren, William Brandon Bolton (Lauren) of Lumberton and Premond Grant Bolton of Durham; four great grandchildren, Bristal Kenady Moore, Emry Skye Bolton, William Declan Bolton and Remi Blake Bolton; a sister, Pat B. Tillotson (Gary) of Henderson; and four nephews, Russ Pegram, Rob Pegram (Wendy), Wayne Tillotson and David Tillotson (Wendy).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley B. Pegram; his mother-in-law, Mary T Hope; two brothers-in-law, Isaac Pegram and Ernest Hope; and a sister-in-law, Betty B. Hope.

The family will receive friends prior to the service in the fellowship hall of Flat Rock United Methodist Church beginning at 12:30 P.M.; and at other times they will be at the home.
