Curtis Floyd John Smith, age 75, a resident of 535 S. Cooper Drive, died Monday, September 30, 2013, in a local nursing home.Born on December 12, 1937 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Jethro Smith and Ila Hedgepeth Smith.He served in the NC National Guard and was a retired employee in the Water Department with the City of Henderson.He was a member of Harriett Baptist Church where funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 pm by the Rev. Will Breedlove..Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Billy Perry, William Weaver, Sr., Lawrence Hilliard, Brent Dillard, Durwood Daniels, Jake Roberson, Waylon Edwards, and Lynwood Bailey.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 pm until 2 pm in the church Fellowship Hall.
