Cynthia Woody Newman

TOWNSVILLE-Cynthia Diane Woody Newman, 64, a resident of 11140 Hwy. 39 N, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018 at her home.Born in Vance County on January 16, 1954, she was the daughter of Robert Earl Woody, Sr. of Henderson and the late Louise Solomon Woody.Cynthia was an Executive Assistant at Variety Wholesalers and was a member of Grassy Creek Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 11 am at Grassy Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Cameron Currin.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband William Cabbel "W.C." Newman of the home; one daughter, Jennifer Humphries (Joseph) of Bullock; one son, Jeffrey Neal Hobgood (Amy) of Dabney; two step-daughters, Donna N. Thompson (Joey) of Henderson and Paige Newman of Raleigh; two step-sons, Chip Newman (Paula) of Henderson and Todd Newman (Tami) of Marion; two brothers Robert Earl Woody Jr. (Sharon) of Warrenton and Barry Wayne Woody. of Raleigh;and fourteen grandchildren.
The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall at Grassy Creek Baptist Church.At other times they will be at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 8300 Health Park, Suite 10, Raleigh, NC27615.
