HENDERSON- Danette De Dee Mangum Edwards, age 50, a resident of 430 Briggs Road, died Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at her home.Born in Halifax County on July 3, 1965 she was the daughter of George Ellis Mangum of Henderson and the late Evelyn Taylor Jones.Mrs. Edwards was employed as a shipping clerk at Dill Air Control and was a member of Crossroads Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00AM at Crossroads Pentecostal Holiness Church by Rev. Earl Campbell and Rev. Michael Bryant.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, J.C. Edwards of the home; a son, Thomas Clary (Amanda) of Wise; a step-daughter, Marion Clary of Kenbridge Virginia; three brothers, George Ellis Mangum, Jr. of Henderson, Thomas Jones of Mountain City, TN, and Richard Mangum of Wise; and a grandson, David Clary.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM in the fellowship hall of Crossroads Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Serving as active pallbearers will beAlan Reid, Brandon Shreeve, Larry Brame, Robert Lester, Ray Patrick and Clarence Burwell.
