OXFORD- Daniel Currin "Danny" Wilkerson, age 73, a resident of 7041 Huntsboro Road, died Monday, August 28, 2017 at his home.He was born at the Wilkerson Family home place in Granville County on May 2, 1944 to Annie Laurie Currin Wilkerson and William Alexander "Willie" Wilkerson.Danny retired from farming after 45 years and was currently the owner and operator of Wilkersons Family Kitchen where he was known as "The Hotdog Man".
He was a member of Dexter Baptist Church where funeral services will be held Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 2:00 PM by Rev. Wayne Clark and Rev. Neil Woodlief.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Danny is survived by his wife, Marie Strickland Wilkerson of the home; his son, Todd Wilkerson and wife, Joan of Oxford; his daughter, Pam W. Humphries and husband, Cam of Oxford; four grandsons, Lane Humphries, Wyatt Humphries, Daniel Wilkerson and Colby Wilkerson; and his sister, Wyvonne W. Owen of Oxford.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Katherine Denise Wilkerson; a sister, Mary Leigh Fuller; and a brother, William "Roundhead" Wilkerson.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at J. M. White Funeral Home and at other times they will be at the home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Lane Humphries, Wyatt Humphries, Daniel Wilkerson, Colby Wilkerson, Randy Oakes, Mike Oakes, Alex Wilkerson and Joe Peace.
