HENDERSON- Darlene Gay O’Brien Hanford, 63, of Ruin Creek Road, died Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at her home. Born July 28, 1959 in Granville County, she was the daughter of Jean Puckett Duncan of Oxford and the late Harold William O’Brien. She was formerly employed at George’s Restaurant in Oxford and a member of Clearview Church. A memorial service will be held Monday, October 17, 2022 at Clearview Church at 6:30 PM by Dr. Abidan Shah. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. In addition to her mother, Darlene is survived by her husband, Robert “Robbie” Alton Hanford, Jr. of the home; three daughters, Robin Hanford, Tara Journigan and Rilynne Abbott, all of Henderson; a son, Brandon Hanford (Desiree) of Chester, VA; four grandchildren, Mackenzie Hanford, Jerimiah Hanford, Landon Hanford and Nora Hanford; three sisters, Melinda Adcock of Oxford, Renee Emory of Creedmoor and Bobbi Gastler of Chesapeake, VA; and a brother, Wayne O’Brien of Oxford. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lennie O’Brien; and her step-father, Robert "Bobby" H. Duncan.
