HENDERSON- David Van Askew, 52, of 244 Rock Mill Road, died Friday, December 20, 2019 at Maria Parham Health. Born in Vance County on February 14, 1967, he was the son of the late Newell Winston Askew, Sr. and Christine Edwards Askew.David was a manager with Martins Bread Company.He was a member of Spring Valley United Methodist Church was active with the United Methodist Men.
A memorial service will be held Monday, December 23rd, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Spring Valley United Methodist Church by Rev. Johnny Yount.
David is survived by his wife, Lisa Holderman Askew of the home; two daughters, Jessica Askew and Sarah Askew of Henderson; two brothers, Newell Winston "Skeet" Askew, Jr. and wife Wanda and Matthew Joe Askew and wife Wendy, both of Kittrell; one niece, Kelly Powell, two nephews, Christopher Askew and Matt Askew, Jr.; four great nieces, Emma Matthews, Carly Matthews, Evelyn Powell and Lilly Askew; four great nephews, Kohen Powell, Christopher Powell, Chris Matthews, Jr. and Luke Askew; and three brothers-in-law, Bob Holderman and wife Linda of Bellefonte, PA; Tim Holderman and wife Debbie of Clearwater, FL; and John Holderman and wife Cyndi of Muskegon, MI.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday from 1:00 PM till 2:00 PM at the church and at other times at the home.
