DAVID W. KING
HENDERSON- David Winston King, Jr., age 71, a resident of 1550 St. Andrews Church Road, died Sunday, August 8, 2010, at his home. Born on October 3, 1938, in Vance County, he was the son of the late David W. King, Sr. and Sally Overton King.
David was owner and operator of Kings Septic Tank and Backhoe Service. He was a member of Flat Rock United Methodist Church, and was a former Trustee at Harris Chapel United Methodist Church.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at Flat Rock United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM by Pastor Alan Felton and Rev. Pam Gilliam. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by is wife of 54 years, Sarah Brame King; one son David W. King, III of Henderson; one daughter, Scarlette Jean Overton and husband, Jimmy of Roxboro; one granddaughter, Hillary Danielle King of Henderson; one brother Willis Eugene King, of Henderson; two sisters, Rebecca Faulkner of Henderson and Iva Mae Hunt of Oxford.
He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Angie King.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 until 8:30 at J.M. White Funeral Home, at other times they will be at the home.
Serving as pallbears will be Eugene King, Jerry Reaves, Derrill Reaves, Jackie Overby, Harold Brame, Neal Barton, Randall King, Lewis Hunt and Jimmy Overton.
Arrangements are by J.M. White Funeral Home.
