HENDERSON-David Jackson Parker, age 62, a resident of 207 Lake Haven Road, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at his home.Born in Nash County on April 16, 1948, he was the son of the late Meddie Lee Parker and Betty Blacksten Parker.Mr. Parker was employed with Freudenberg Non-Woven Textiles in Durham.He was a member of the Henderson Masonic Lodge # 229 AF & AM and the Henderson Moose Lodge.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 7:00 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Estan Bailey and the Rev. Joe Kossan.
David loved life and family, was a hard worker and provider. He was an avid fisherman, pool player, golfer and loyal friend.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Proctor Parker of the home; two sons, David Rafe Parker(Jean), of Henderson and Jeff Jackson Parker (Angie), of Bunn; three sisters, Sharon P. Porter (Jim) of Charlotte, Laura Ann Parker of Los Angeles, California; and Debbie P. Karaus (Michael) of Orlando, Florida; five grandchildren, Tiffany Parker (Roland), Tiffany Howard, Dustin Parker (Sierra), Jessica Parker, and Dylan Parker; and two great grandchildren, Ryan Nuss and TruRose Nuss.
The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 until 7:00 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home at 207 Lake Haven Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Home For Children At Oxford, 600 College St., Oxford NC 27565.
