HENDERSON-Delores Rose Manning, age 72, a resident of 500 S. Cooper Drive, died
Saturday, March 11, 2017, at her home.Born in Vance County on May 17, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Vollie Benjamin Manning and Susie Shaw Morris Manning.
Delores loved helping young people and enjoyed helping The Greater Piedmont Teen Challenge in Greensboro.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Frank Sossamon.Burial willfollow in Elmwood Cemetery.
She is survived by one sister, Earline Lassiter (Ronnie) of Henderson; three brothers,Tommy Manning (Ann) and Jimmy Manning of Henderson, the Rev.Bennie Manning (Faye) of Newton; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise M. Ayscue and Laura M. Deans; and two brothers, James Manning and Douglas Manning.
The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:30 until 8:00 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of Earline and Ronnie Lassiter at 394 Vicksboro Road.
Serving as active pall bearers will be James Ray Manning, Douglas Manning, Jr., John Manning, Timothy Manning, Steve Manning, and Paul Manning.
