HENDERSON-Dennis Wilson "Kojak" Garner, age 69, a resident of 1210 Hight Street, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at his home.Born in Roanoke Rapids on January 13, 1947, he was the son of the late Wilson Allen Garner and Margaret Lassiter Garner.
"Kojak" was a Veteran of the United States Army where he served for seven years, serving in Vietnam.He was a member of the Henderson Moose Lodge and the Relay For Life Bike Club.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at 11 am at J. M. White Funeral Home by the Rev. Tim Burgess.
He is survived by one son, Dennis Coleman "D.C." Garner of Enfield; one daughter, Crystal Lynn Garner of Rocky Mount; one sister, Linda G. Acree of Gaston; two brothers, Gene Garner of Statesville and Alton Garner of Henderson; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at J. M. White Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 3203 Womans Club Drive, Raleigh, NC27612.
