HENDERSON-Dianne Currin Penny, 77, a resident of Parrott Road, died Monday, August 12, 2024 at her home. Born in Vance County on April 26, 1947, she was the daughter of the late John Fenner Currin and Edith Roberson Edwards, and was the widow of James Rubin “J. R.” Penny. Dianne was a member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church where funeral services will be held Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 2:00 PM by Dr. Donald A. Perkinson. Burial will follow in the New Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. She is survived by one daughter, Susan Penny Elliott of Henderson; one son, Todd Penny (Tammy) of Creedmoor; four grandchildren, Brandon Elliott (Jainee), Lauren Medlin (Rob), Dustin Penny (Johnny Jo), Megan Dickerson (Jon); and three great grandchildren, Jordan Elliott, Ryan Elliott, and Maverick Penny. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Peggy Currin Blanks; and one brother, Lester Currin. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall at Blessed Hope Baptist Church. At other times they will be at the home. Serving as active pallbearers will be Brandon Elliott, Jordan Elliott, Dustin Penny, Zack Lambert, Brad Cooper, Scott Greenway, Michael Nicholas, and Mark Crowder.
