HENDERSON- Dianne Wade Slaughter, 70, of Edward Wade Lane, died Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at VCU Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill, VA.Born in Vance County on June 19, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Edward Irvin Wade and Ruth Sneed Wade.Dianne was an employee of State Farm where she worked as an insurance agent and was a member of Hermon United Methodist Church.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Hermon United Methodist Church by Rev. Tabitha Pate and Rev. Johnny Yount. A private burial will follow at Twin Oak Memorial Family Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Alvis Delbert Slaughter of the home, a daughter, Kathy Slaughter of Henderson; two sons, Kenneth Slaughter (Cyndi Long) of Oxford and Kirk Slaughter (Kelly) of Henderson; two grandchildren, Steven Slaughter and Cristan Sims; a daughter-in-law, Lynne Slaughter of Henderson; a sister, Elaine Lowry; two brothers, Ed Wade (Pauline) of Kentucky and Irvin Wade (Tammy) of Henderson.
Serving as pallbearers will be James Lilley, David Horton, Jason Hamlett, Marcus Brooks, Josh Wade, Justin Wade, Jonathan Wade and Robert Adcock.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hermon United Methodist Church, C/O Florence Pernell, 3144 Dabney Road, Henderson, NC 27537 or the Vance County Animal Shelter, 1243 Brodie Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
Attendees at the service are asked to wear appropriate face coverings and practice social distancing.
