HENDERSON- Dolly Ann Stallings Ellington, 81, of Raleigh Road, died Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at a local nursing home. Born September 15, 1944 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Nora Hurt Stallings and George Plummer Stallings. Dolly was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at New Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Henry Abbott. Burial will follow in the Union Chapel Church of Kittrell Cemetery.
She is survived by a daughter, Rita Edwards (Ronnie) of Henderson; a son, William “Dee” Ellington of Henderson; three sisters, Princella Owens of Kittrell, Katie Hite of Kittrell and Violet Gomer of Suffolk, VA; two granddaughters, Jessica Barnett and Harley Rae Ellington; a grandson, Christian Ellington; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, George Vann Ellington; a grandson, Ricky Vann Ellington; two sisters, Shirley Manganaan and Pearl Paynter; and four brothers, Bobby Horton, Vest Horton, Ike Horton and Woodrow Stallings.
The family will receive friends Saturday prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. at New Hope Baptist Church.
At other times they will be at the home of her sister Princella Owens, 6575 Raleigh Road, Kittrell NC, 27544.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robbie Horton, Ricky Horton, Hunter Capps, Curt Harp, Damian Edwards and Corey Edwards.
