HENDERSON- Mrs. Dolores Jean Smith Hunt, age 73, died Thursday, June 12, 2014 at a local nursing home.Born in Portsmouth, VAon August 5, 1940 she was the daughter of the late David Louis Smith and Ruth Bernice Perisher Smith.Mrs. Hunt was the widow of Billy Paul Hunt.She was a retired medical records clerk.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 3 pmin the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home by Rev. Frank Sossamon.
She is survived by her son, Ronnie Owens of Durham; a brother Danny Smith; five grandchildren, Evan Owens, Aaron Owens, Megan Owens, Jamie Hecox, and Jimmy Owens; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Michael James Owens.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 2till 3 PM at J.M. White Funeral Home.
