Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM at Blessed Hope Baptist Church by the Rev. Donnie Perkinson.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his wife Deborah Wife Sharpe Burnette of the home; two daughters, Angel Dawn Burnette Evans of Charlotte and Heather Lane Burnette of Henderson; two sons, Anthony Wade Burnette of Candler, NC and Donald Ray Burnette, Jr. of Hurst, TX; one brother, Elmus L. Burnette of Raleigh; six grandchildren, Kayla Elizabeth Burnette, Ryan Eugene Reavis Burnette, Skyler Christian Stewart Burnette, Sean Robert Burnette, Alecia Nichole Burnette and Mya Lane Burnette Neal; and his four-legged grandson Dobby Abu Two Face Evans; several nieces and nephews; several special family members and close friends; his Winn-Dixie brothers and sisters; his Momma Fannie C. Thomas; and his Oxford Orphanage brothers and sisters.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Marie Burnette Davis, and Phyllis Joann Burnette.
Donnie will be missed and loved by all those whose lives he touched.He brought laughter and joy to all those who knew him.
The family will receive friends Saturday night from 7:00 PM till 8:30 PM at J.M. White Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home, 354 Breeze Hill Lane (off of Faulkner Town Road), Henderson, NC.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Donald Ray Burnette, Sr. Funeral Fund, C/O J.M. White Funeral Home, 60 Zeb Robinson Rd. Henderson, NC 27536.
