Donald Thomas Roberts

HENDERSON- Donald Thomas Roberts, 70, of Highway 39N, lost his battle to cancer Monday, November 24, 2025 at his home. Born September 18, 1955 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Aliene Davis Roberts and Homer Thomas Roberts, Sr. and the widower of Libby Clarice Hobgood Roberts. He was employed with GFL as a site attendant. He retired from Certainteed where he was given the nickname “Alley Cat.” He also was a member of Freedom Life Church of God. Donald was a loving father, husband, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was a man who enjoyed being outside, spending time with his grandson and his pets.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 28, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Freedom Life Church of God by Rev. Jeff Prewer. Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens.

Donald is survived by two daughters, April Roberts (Viktor Norton) of Henderson and Heather Roberts of Asheville; a grandson, Viktor Norton; and his sister-in-law, Peggy Edwards and husband, Tad of Henderson.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers; four sisters; and a sister-in-law.

The family will receive friends before the service on Friday beginning at 1:00 P.M. at Freedom Life Church of God.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Wade Edwards, Viktor Norton, Paul Manning, Gilbert Frances, Bruce Nicholson and Guy "Sparky" Wingo. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Tad Edwards and Joseph Kimball.
