HENDERSON-Donald Ray Tart, age 59, a resident of 290 Eaves Road, died Sunday, July 11, 2010, at his home.Born in Vance County on August 2, 1950, he was the son of Robert Milton Tart of Henderson and the late Elizabeth Irene Parrish Tart.He was medically retired from Novozymes North America, Inc. in Franklinton where he had worked for twenty-one years.Mr. Tart was a member of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church, and was a former member of Ducks Unlimited and the Tar River Hunting Club.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Frank Sossamon.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Dickerson Tart of the home; two sons, Michael Ray Tart and wife, Dottie, and Barry Phillip Tart and fiance, Christy Jenkins, both of Franklin County; one daughter, Amy Tart Dickerson of Franklin County; one brother, Milton Wayne Tart and wife, Rose, of Kittrell; his twin sister, Kay Tart Burke of Henderson; and six grandchildren Nichloas Tart, Meredith Tart, Taylor Tart, Lucas Tart, Gary Lil G Dickerson III and Hannah Dickerson.He was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Lee Tart.
The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home at 290 Eaves Road in the Epsom Community.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Randy Hayes, Danny Hayes, Gerald Jackson, Ray Lyles, Wayne Jackson, Joey Tingle, Ben Layton, Andy Hayes and Zach Burnette..
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Royal Rangers at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church, Atten: David Batten, 905 Americal Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
