OXFORD- Donnie Ray Overton, 73, of Community House Road, died Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Duke University Medical Center. Born March 6, 1952 in Granville County, he was the son of the late Clarice Rogers Overton and Harry Lee Overton. He was the owner and operator of Overton Trucking Company for more than 50 years. A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM by Rev. Will Breedlove in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home. Donnie is survived by his wife of 39 years, Kathy Dorsey Overton of the home; his daughter, Christie O. Juengling (Sean) of Henderson; two step-daughters, Amy Hobgood (George Humphries) of Warrenton and Robin Ball (Bobby) of Louisburg; nine grandchildren, Kristich Juengling, Clarissa “Reece” Juengling, Brendan Juengling, Gray Hobgood, Colbey Hobgood, Peyton Rogers (Jay), Makayla Rogers (Jarrett), Thomas Joyner and Travis Ball; one great-grandson, Jayce Rogers; four sisters, Carrie O. Gillis, Bonnie O. Floyd (Ricky), Gail O. Miller (Rick) all of Oxford, and Vivian O. Wright (Larry) of Henderson; and three brothers, Wayne Overton (Alice), Leonard Overton (Hattie Jean) and William Overton, all of Oxford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Lee Overton. The family will receive friends following the service at J.M. White Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
