Doris West Frazier

HENDERSON- Mrs. Doris West Watkins Frazier, 93, of Garden Walk Drive, died Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Maria Parham Health. Born July 31, 1929, in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Sidney Fleming West and Rosa Abbott and was the widow of Billy Watkins and Norman Frazier. She was a member of New Sandy Creek Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ed Blue Sunday School Class. She also participated in the First Wednesday Ladies Group. She retired from the Vance County School System and Roses Stores. A memorial service will be held Monday, July 17, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at New Sandy Creek Baptist Church by Rev. Tim Burgess. Doris is survived by a daughter, Sherry Faulkner and husband, Mike of Kittrell; a daughter-in-law, Becky Watkins of Henderson; three grandchildren, Kitty Watkins, Krystal Watkins, Kyle Faulkner; five great- grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen Clark and Sarah Twisdale, both of Henderson. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Watkins; a sister, Margaret Robertson; and two brothers, Larry West and Morris West. The family will receive friends Monday July 3, through Wednesday July 5, at her home, 148 Garden Walk Drive, Henderson, NC 27536 and Monday, July 17 from 10:30 until 11:00 AM at New Sandy Creek Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
