Doris Matthews Reavis

WARRENTON- Mrs. Doris Matthews Reavis, age 90, died Saturday March 30, 2024, at Warren Hills Nursing Center. Born in Vance County on October 7, 1933 she was the daughter of the late Catherine Riggan Matthews and George Matthews. Doris was the former office manger at Family Eye Center in Henderson and was a member of Providence Methodist Church in Warrenton. Graveside services will be held Thursday April 4, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Townsville officiated by Ben Reavis and Dr. Jerry Ellington. She is survived by her husband, Lewis Reavis; one daughter, Kathryn T. Johnson of Creedmoor; one son, Ben Reavis and wife Carol of Warrenton; four grandchildren, Martha Hall, Matthew Hall, Chelsi Manning and husband Donald, and B. J. Watts; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by eight brothers, John Matthews, George Matthews, Richard Matthews, William “Bill” Matthews, Hunter “Jim” Matthews, Thomas Matthews, Frank Matthews, and Sterling Matthews.
