Doris Ann Stainback

HENDERSON- Doris Ann Stainback, 93, of New Bethel Church Road, died Sunday, July 13, 2025 at Whitmore Retirement Center. Born September 11, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Jennie V. Renn Stainback and Ben Hill Stainback. She retired from Carolina Telephone Company where she was a project manager. Doris loved her cousins and their children. She also loved to sing. She gained great joy from working in her yard and tending to her flowers. Doris was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church where funeral services will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. by Rev. Jonathan Owens. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. She is survived by her cousins, Jane Renn Frazier of Raleigh, William J. “Chip” Harris and wife, Juanita of Henderson, Linda S. Williamson and husband, Dennis of Oxford, Joann M. Harris of Henderson, and Stephen M. Harris and wife, Judy of Yanceyville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by many cousins. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday in the fellowship hall of New Bethel Baptist Church. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian A. Harris, Stephen M. Harris, Jr., Stephen Francis, Calvin Davis, Jr., Dennis Williamson, Jr. and Dennis Wilder. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to New Bethel Baptist Church C/O Delores Woodard 1312 Cheeks Quarter Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
