Dorothy "Dot" Lassiter Choplin

HENDERSON- Dorothy “Dot” Lassiter Choplin, 74, of Stewart Farm Road, died Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Maria Parham Health. Born June 11, 1949 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Kennon Lawson Lassiter and Luther Lassiter. Dorothy was a member of Wake Forest Church of God and retired from Quest Diagnostic. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 3:00 PM at South Henderson Church of God officiated by Rev. Mark Bateman. Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Holly Sanford and husband, Anthony of Henderson; three sons, Ray Stancil of Durham, Jody Stancil and wife, Stephanie of Thomasville, and Kevin Stancil of Clayton; five grandchildren, Noah Stancil, Aiden Sanford, Katie Sanford, Kaylee Stancil and Nathaniel Stancil; and a sister, Judy Ayscue of Henderson; and one special niece, Kristy Crowder; a special nephew, Chad Ayscue and several great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at her home Sunday, March 17, 2024 beginning at 11:00 AM, and Monday March 18, 2024 beginning at 11:00 AM and following the service at South Henderson Church of God. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dianne Crowder for her loving and compassionate care for Dot.
