Dorothy Elliott Rowe, age 89, a former resident of Rock Mill Road, died Sunday, October 16, 2016, at Franklin Oaks Nursing & Rehabilitation in Louisburg.Born on April 10, 1927 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Dorsey William Faucette and Mattie Gardner Faucette.
She was a lifelong member of New Sandy Creek Baptist Church, member of the Ed Blue Sunday School Class and the Senior Saints.She was a former employee of Purolator.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11am at New Sandy Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Tim Burgess.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by one brother, Lonnie Faucette and wife, Becky of Henderson; five grandchildren, Yvonne E. Manning and husband, Paul, Nicki E. Darnell and husband, Matthew, Mike Elliott and wife, Erin, Tracy Elliott and wife, Laura, and Charles Elliott, Jr. and wife, Sandy; and eleven great grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, James A. Elliott and John E. Rowe; three sons, Charles W. Elliott, Wayne Elliott and Timmy Elliott; and one sister, Fannie Faucette Rowe.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bruce Franklin, Gordon Wilder, David Ayscue, Steve Cannon, Hartwell Wright and Sammy Franklin.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall. At other times they will be at the home of Charles and Sandy Elliott, 519 Rock Mill Road.
