Dorothy Abbott Seiple, 89, a resident of the Warrenton Road, died Thursday, August 17, 2023 in a local nursing home. Born in Franklin County on May 28, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Nathan Nathaniel Ayscue and Nancy Nelford Patterson Ayscue, and was the widow of James Elmore Abbott and Eugene Harold Seiple. Dot was a retired Waitress from the former Dabney Drive Restaurant and was a member of Cokesbury Methodist Church. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, August 21, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Cokesbury Methodist Church by Pastor Mike Edmondson. She is survived by two sons, Dennis Eugene Abbott (Kathy) of Henderson and Durward Thomas Abbott (Donna) of Knightdale; three sisters, Annie Edna Mosley and Esther Perkinson of Henderson, and Catherine Ellington of Cary; one brother, Wade Ayscue of Henderson; three grandchildren, Leah Abbott, Rachel Etheridge (Mike), and Daniel Abbott; and two great grandchildren, Michael Etheridge and Hannah Etheridge. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one sister, Lillian Baker; and five brothers, Linwood Ayscue, Sterling Ayscue, Larry Ayscue, Owen Ayscue, and Willard “Bo” Ayscue. The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall at Cokesbury Methodist Church.
