Drucilla Upchurch Abbott

HENDERSON- Drucilla Upchurch Abbott, 85, of Rock Mill Road, died Friday, October 2, 2026 at Oxford Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born July 26, 1941 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Selma Morton Gill Upchurch and George Roy Upchurch and was the widow of Andrew Gilbert Abbott, Sr. Her employment history included her being a receptionist for Dr. Reddy in his medical practice and working at Rite Aid Drug Store. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home by Rev. Calvin Hedgepeth and Rev. Zane Patterson.

Mrs. Abbott is survived by two sons, Andrew Gilbert Abbott, Jr. and wife Kimberly of Henderson and Kevin Wayne Abbott of Henderson; and a sister, Judy U. Kalmus of Fort Walton Beach, FL.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth U. Putt and Ann U. Allen.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday beginning at 10:00 A.M. at J.M. White Funeral Home.
