EMERALD ISLE- Durwood Thomas "Tommy" Watkins, Jr., 65, a resident of 1300 Oakridge Ave., Henderson, and 119 Bogue Inlet Dr., died Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Carteret Health Care in Morehead City.Born in Vance County on March 12, 1952, he was the son of Durwood Thomas Watkins, Sr. and Clarice Coghill Watkins of Henderson.Tommy was a Veteran of the United States Army and United States National Guard. He was retired from Revco and Walmart Distribution Centers, was a member of Fuller Chapel Christian Church.
A private service will be held at a later date.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Cheryl Vaughn Watkins of the home; one sister, Sharon W. Clark of Henderson; and one niece, Chastity Nicole Clark of Orlando, FL.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Michelle Watkins.
