KITTRELL-Earlene Smith Wells, age 83, a resident of Bobbitt Road, died Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Maria Parham Medical Center.Born on September 27, 1933 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Early E. Smith and Addie Lassiter Smith.
Earlene was a graduate of Henderson High School and was a member of the High School Basketball Team.Earlene was retired from BB&T Bank and enjoyed playing cards and traveling.She loved her family dearly and enjoyed cooking and collecting cook books.
She was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church where funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2016,at 2 pm by the Rev. Joseph Precht,Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She is surived by her husband, Durwood E. Wells of the home; one daughter, Karen W. Bobbitt and husband, Norman of Kittrell; five grandchildren, Ashley Camp, Brian Camp, Lindsey Bobbitt, Taylor Lassiter, and Robert Bobbitt; and six great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Tant, Kaden Camp, Vayda Collins, Brenea Camp, Madelyn Bobbitt, and Henry D. Bobbitt.In addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Teresa Jean Camp.
The family will receive friends Monday night, October 31, 2016, from 7 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home on Bobbitt Road.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Norman Bobbitt, Mike Wells, Lex Speal, Brian Camp, Rusty Smith, and Robert Harris.Serving as honorary pall bearers will be members of the Union Chapel Adult Sunday School Class.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Union Chapel United Methodist Church, c/o Mildred Ross, 908 Avis Lane, Henderson, NC27536.
