GREENSBORO-Edgar Marvin Moss, age 68, a resident of 3520 Drawbridge Parkway Apt. 102 F, and a former resident of Townsville, died Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.Born on March 6, 1943 in Vance County, he was the son of the late E.C. Moss and Rose Wilson Moss.Mr. Moss was a 1961 graduate of Townsville High School and a 1965 graduate of Campbell College where he was an outstanding basketball player.He was a retired office products salesman.He was a lifetime member of Nutbush Presbyterian Church in Townsville, NC, but attended Buffalo Presbyterian Church in Greensboro.An article in the Greensboro News & Record referred fondly of Mr. Moss as the man that walked by Caldwell Academy and waved to the children.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 am at Nutbush Presbyterian Church in Townsville by the Rev. Marshall Neathery.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by one daughter, Gina M. Dunham and husband, Ross, of Greensboro; three grandchildren, Addison, Quinn, and Calvin Dunham of Greensboro; and two sisters, Marian H. Billie Twisdale of Townsville and Betsy M. Reid of Brownsburg, Virginia.
The family will receive friends Monday from 9:30 until 11:00 am prior to the service in the Fellowship Hall of Nutbush Presbyterian Church.At other times they will be at the home of Billie Twisdale at 12388 Hwy. 39 N in the Townsville Community.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Ralph Pegram, Jr., Christopher H. Pegram, Dan Moss, Larry Wilson, Lawrence Griffin, Bobby Moss, Carl Sanford, and Virgil Twisdale.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Nutbush Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Charlie Norwood, P. O. Box 184, Townsville, N.C.27584.
