HENDERSON-Edith Forsythe Short, 79, a resident of Hwy. 39 South, died Friday, April 26, 2019, in a local nursing home.Born on September 27, 1939 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Fulton Forsythe and Mary Cash Forsythe, and was the widow of John Wayne Short.Mrs. Short was a retired Cardio Vascular Transcriptionist at Maria Parham Medical Center and a member of New Life Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 28, 2019 at 2 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by pastor Dr. Donald A. Perkinson. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by one son, the Rev. Tim Short (Carol) of Henderson; one daughter, Mary S. Pendergrass (Clifton) of Henderson; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; and a half-sister, Connie Hathway.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 12 siblings.
The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6 until 8 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home of Clifton and Mary Pendergrass, 166 Small Pond Lane, Henderson, NC.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Jeremy Munn, Thomas Stancil, Eduardo Garcia, David Moore, Robert Hunt, and Steve Dickerson
