HENDERSON-Edna Harp King, 89, a resident of 3095 N. Lynnbank Road, died Wednesday, July 05, 2017, in a local nursing home.Born on November 16, 1927 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Genie Marvin Harp and Jamie Grissom Harp, and was the widow of Nash H. King.Mrs. King was a homemaker, a member of Fuller Chapel Christian Church, formerly known as Fuller Chapel Church Of Christ, and was a 1945 graduate of Zeb Vance High School.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 am at Fuller Chapel Christian Church by the Rev. Tammy Ayscue.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by one daughter, Nancy K. Franklin (Wayne) of Henderson; two sons, Bobby N. King (Margaret) of Midlothian, VA, and Larry T. King (Deborah) of Henderson; five grandchildren, Karen K. Dyson (Ricky), Kevin W. Franklin (Kim), Wendy N. Franklin, Ian C. King, and Cayton A. King; one great grandson, Dallas Roberson; and one brother, Al Harp of Henderson.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Judy Harp and Frances H. Roberson; and five brothers, Sherwood Harp, Marvin Harp, Floyd Ray Harp, James Harp, and Hartwell Harp.
The family will receive friends following the service on Saturday in the Fellowship Hall at Fuller Chapel Christian Church.At other times they will be at her home.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Kevin Franklin, Cayton King, Wayne Harp, Joel Harp, Herbie Grissom, Preston Floyd, Donald Coghill, T. T. Beckham, and Buster Beckham.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Fuller Chapel Christian Church, c/o Christy Pulley, 771 Edwards Road, Henderson, NC27537.
