GREENSBORO- Edna Freeman Murray, age 85, a former resident of Waddill Street in Henderson, died Monday March 4, 2013 at Heritage Greens in Greensboro.Born on July 2, 1927 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Lucius Joseph Freeman and Vashti Woodlief Freeman.She was a graduate of Womans College of Greensboro, a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Henderson, and a retired Supervisor for the former Carolina Power and Light Company.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 PM in the J.M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Keith Benze.Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Oxford.
She is survived by her sister, Josephine Jo F. Nichols of Greensboro; and her brother, Lucius Joseph Freeman, Jr. of Hartwell, Ga.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Murray to whom shemarried in February of 1967.
The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 till 2:00 PM at J.M. White Funeral Home.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Dan Nichols, Joe Dunn, Matthew Dunn, Mike Rainey, John Rainey, Gary Freeman,and William L. Stainback.
