Elaine Evans King

HENDERSON-Elaine O’Neal Evans King, 88, a resident of Marigold Lane died Sunday, October 22, 2023, at a local nursing home. Born on December 28, 1934 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Peter Foster Evans and Myrtle Harris Johnson Evans, and was the widow of Fred Eugene King. She was a retired from Nortel in Research Triangle Park where she worked as a quality control inspector. A memorial service for Elaine and Fred King will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home by Rev. Milton Abbott. She is survived by two daughters, Teresa K. Baldwin and husband, Eddie of Henderson, and Linda K. Clayton of Henderson, one son, Fred E. King, Jr. and wife, Olga of Henderson; one brother, Dr. Harris L. Evans of New Port; and two grandchildren, Melanie Baldwin-Jones and husband Steven of Henderson, and Daniel Clayton and fiancé, Katie of Franklinton. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at J.M. White Funeral Home.
