Elizabeth "Betsy" Bachman Catlett

May 18, 1930 — February 4, 2025

Elizabeth “Betsy” Bachman Catlett, 94, of Henderson, NC died peacefully surrounded by her family on February 4 th, 2025. Born May 18 th, 1930, in Edenton, NC, she was the daughter of Augustus Walker Bachman and Jeanette Shaw Strause Bachman. She graduated from Henderson High School in 1948 and Women’s College of North Carolina in 1952. She married Albert “Al” W. Catlett, Sr. on June 13 th, 1953. After completing many years of service as an exemplary Air Force Officer’s wife alongside her husband, the family returned to Henderson, NC. She was a very active member of The Church of the Holy Innocents where her Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 1:00 PM by the Rev. Robert Beauchamp. The family will receive friends following the service in The Church of Holy Innocents Great Hall. She is survived by her two sons, Albert W. Catlett, Jr. (Janelle) of Charlottesville, VA, and Robert Walker Catlett of the home; her daughter Elizabeth “Anne” Catlett Reap of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren, Robert Christopher Catlett, Ryan Whitby Catlett (Celine), Andrew Walker Catlett (Lauren) James Albert Catlett (Ashley), and William Mundy Reap III (Emilee); and three great grandchildren, Georgia Catlett, Quinn Catlett, and Gray Catlett. She is also survived by adored, cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Albert; cherished sister and best friend Janet White; and much-loved brother Gus Bachman. The family thanks Antavia Haythe for the amazing love, care and comfort she provided our mother for the last year. In addition, Al and Anne would like to acknowledge our brother Bob and his son Christopher for the love and years of tireless care they provided to both our parents. We are eternally grateful and will never be able to adequately express our thanks and love for them. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Church of The Holy Innocents, 201 S. Chestnut Street, Henderson, NC 27536.
