Elizabeth "Lib" Rawls Holland, 86, a resident of Snuggs Road, and a former resident of Henderson, NC, died Tuesday, February 02, 2016, at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, NC.Born on March 25, 1929 in Edgecombe County, she was the daughter of the late George W. Rawls and Effie Harrison Rawls, and was the widow of Eugene Ray Holland.
Lib was a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church in Henderson where she served as Vestry Clerk for many years and was a devoted member of the Altar Guild.She was a teacher assistant with the Vance County Schools.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 3 pm at Randall United Methodist Church Cemetery in Norwood by The Rev. James Bernacki.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Gene Holland Hinson and husband, Don of Norwood; two grandchildren, Matthew Gene Hinson and wife, Lisa and Elizabeth Hinson Pope and husband, Kyle of Oakboro and one great grandson, Preston Rawls Pope; and beloved family members, Julie Breedlove Kelly and husband, Kevin and their children, Colin and Jennifer.
The family will receive friends Friday night from 6 until 8 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home in Henderson.At other times they will be at the home of Gene and Don Hinson at 44075 Snuggs Road, Norwood, NC28128.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church Altar Guild, 428 Pee Dee Avenue, Albemarle, NC28001.
