Surviving are her son, Julian J. Pernell, Jr. of Columbia, SC; sister, Josephine Driver; sister and
brother-in-law, Shirley and Kirby Hinson of Louisburg, NC.She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian J. Pernell; her parents, Mark Henry and Bessie Denton Hunt; and her sister, Mary Charles Holmes.
A graveside service will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Marion D. Lark at 11:00 am on Monday at New Hope Christian Church, 2973 NC Hwy 98 (between US Hwy. 401 and NC Hwy 39) Louisburg, NC.
The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Julian and Elsie Gray Pernell Academic Endowment Scholarship at Vance Granville Community College, PO Box 917, Henderson, NC, 27536, or the local chapter of the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are by J. M. White Funeral Home of Henderson, NC.
