Henderson-Elsie Bailey Peoples, age 77, a former resident of Gun Club Road, died Thursday,
March 27, 2014, in a local nursing home.Born in Johnston County on November 6, 1936, she was the daughter of the late George Glenn Bailey and Martha Brown Bailey, and was the widow of Clifton McDonald Peoples.She was a retired private duty CNA and was a member of Central Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery for many years.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at 11 am in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Bruce Beck.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by one daughter, Teresa P. Smith of Henderson; two sons, Joseph B. Peoples of Youngsville and Clifton McDonald Peoples, Jr. of Charlotte; two sisters, Shirley B. Hatcher of Long Beach, NC, and Kathryn B. Phipps of Edenton, NC; five grandchildren; and four great grandchild.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Bailey and Kenneth Bailey; and a sister, Faye B. Conner.
The family will receive friends Monday night from 7 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home of Teresa and Thomas Smith at 748 Gun Club Road.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Joey Peoples, Donnie Peoples, Glenn Parker, Frankie Parker, Jarrett Parker, Moe Casto, and Dickie Taylor.
