Emily Martin Coghill

HENDERSON- Emily Louise Martin Coghill, 93, of NC 39 Loop Road, died Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at the home of her daughter. Born February 12, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Pattie Lou Pendergrass Martin and Walter Greene Martin and was the widow of Horace G. Coghill, Jr. She retired from the Vance County School System. Emily was a member of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church where she belonged to the Women’s Sunday School Class. A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, May 17, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. by Rev. Mark Richardson at Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Emily is survived by two daughters, Sandra Coghill Roberson and husband, Russell and Lisa Coghill Boyd and husband, James, both of Henderson; six grandchildren, Kevin Roberson, Randall Roberson, Patricia Roberson, Chrissy Buchanan, Daniel Eaves and Joshua Eaves; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren her sister, Glinda P. Tuck of Henderson; her brother, Walter W. Martin of Henderson; and a daughter-in-law, Sarah Renn Coghill. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Allen Coghill, a granddaughter, Stephanie Coggsdale; and a great-granddaughter, Ashley Coggsdale. The family will receive friends following the service at the home of Sandra and Russell Roberson.
