HENDERSON-Emily Edwards Edwards, 90, a resident of 756 Faulkner Town Road, died Saturday, October 06, 2018, at Duke University Hospital.Born on September 29, 1928 in Warren County, she was the daughter of the late Willie Joe Edwards and Jodie Mosley Edwards, and was the widow of William Hugh Edwards.
Emily was a founding member of Unity Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Calvin Hedgepeth and Rev. Jeff Prewer.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by three sons, William Edwards and wife, Dianne, Carlton Wade Tad Edwards and wife, Peggy of Henderson, and Mike Edwards and wife, Linda of Epson; one sister, Helen Abbott of Henderson; one brother, Willie Grey Edwards of Henderson; eight grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one great grandchild, Crystal Lynn Hight; one sister, Christine Askew; and two brothers, Bobby Edwards and Jimmy Edwards.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday from 1 until 2 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons.
