HENDERSON- Mrs. Emma Jean Howard Owens, age 67, a former resident of 86 Hunting Trail Lane, Henderson, died Tuesday at a local nursing home.Born in Chesterfield, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Wincie McCray Howard and Herman Howard.She was a former employee of Harriett and Henderson Yarns, Inc. and ETC.She was a member of the Salvation Army.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 A.M. in the J.M. White Funeral Home chapel by Major James McCurdy.Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Owens is survived by three sons, Convie Howard, Bennie J. Howard, both of Henderson, and Bobby Owens of Salem, Virginia; four brothers, Marshall Howard of Chesapeake, Virginia, Ray Howard of Jefferson, South Carolina, Alton Howard of Henderson, and Bennie Howard of Rock Hill, South Carolina; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Owens, a son Jimmy Howard, and a grandson.
The family will receive friends Thursday night from 7:00 till 8:30 PM at J.M. White Funeral Home.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Tony Fox, Robert Howard, Adam Howard, Warren Howard, Warren Howard, Jr. and Stephen Dickerson.
