HENDERSON- Emma Lee Hawkins Dickie, 96, formerly of Franklin County, died Tuesday, February 11, 2020.Born in Vance County on July 31, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Richard Madison Hawkins and Ruby Larkins Hawkins and was the widower of Durwood T. Dickie.Mrs. Dickie was a member of First Baptist Church Henderson and retired from Pine State Creamery where she worked for over 50 years as a bookkeeper.
A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, February 15, 2020 in the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery at 11:00 AM by Dr. Marion D. Lark.
She is survived by her brother, Tommy Hawkins (Brenda), of Saratoga; three nieces, Blair E. Hughes (John), of Raleigh, Suzanne H. Brantley (Brad), of Chocowinity and Margaret H. Harris (Jamar), of Garner; and two nephews, Edward Everett (Kay), of Cumming, GA and David Madison Hawkins (Lorie) of Stantonburg.She is also survived by seven great nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby H. Everett.
The family will receive friends following the service in the New Bethel Baptist Church fellowship hall.
