HENDERSON-Eric Malone Pendergrass, age 47, died on Friday, January 3, 2015, at his home. Eric was born in Vance County on January 13, 1967; he was retired from WalMart and attended Livingstone Church Of God.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at 2 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Brent Kasey.Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his father, John Andrew Pendergrass and his step-mother, Fannie M. Pendergrass, a daughter, Ashley Merchant of Vermont; a special little girl, Abby Newton who he loved and considered his daughter; two sisters, Sherry Ross and Barbara Overby; a brother, Johnny Pendergrass; two step-sisters, Peggy Roberts of Florida and Wanda Perry; and a step-father, Charlie Perry.He was preceded in death by his mother, Shannon Rogers Perry;and his step-brother, Charles Anthony Perry.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday from 12:30 until 2 pm at the J. M. White Funeral Home.
At other times they will be at the home of John and Fannie Pendergrass at 2048 Poplar Creek Road.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Frank Wilder, Adrian Brame, J. H. Hamm, Justin Pendergrass, Joseph Abbott, and Jeremy Abbott.
Flowers will be accepted ormemorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2418 Blue Ridge Road, Suite 206, Raleigh, NC27607 or to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060-9979.
